كشفت يومية الأخبار، أن الخلاف وصل بين حميد شباط الامين العام لحزب الإستقلال وعبد القادر الكيحل، عضو اللجنة التنفيذية للحزب، إلى مستوى غير مسبوق من العنف اللفظي تحول إلى تشابك بالأيادي لولا تدخل بعض الأعضاء الذين أوقفوا العراك داخل مقر الحزب.
وأوضحت اليومية في عددها ليوم الجمعة 30 دجنبر، نقلا عن مصادر داخلية بالحزب، أن الخلاف الذي نشب بين القاديين مرده اتهام شباط للكيحل بالتسبب له في كل مايعيشه اليوم من مشاكل حزبية وسياسية داخل الحزب وخارجه أوصلته إلى عزلة تامة، مما أثار غضب الكيحل ودفعه لشتم شباط والإشتباك معه بالأيادي.
